He will NOT fail you!

I sit in my favourite spot in our backyard, a steaming cup of tea warming my cold hands, an open Bible on my lap. These moments with my Saviour are precious, as I delight in the colour-splashed autumn world. Birds chirp their sweet hallelujahs, yellow and green branches swish as happy breezes play tag. I open my mouth and join all of creation as we sing morning songs of praise to our Creator!
That day, a bird had decided to bless the paved area by my chair with his unique deposits. Ugh! I looked for and found a large leaf. After I cleaned the paving, I threw the leaf away. But ... I needed to wash my fingers. I looked around. Beyond the wall, sat our large blue watering can. I picked it up! It did hold some water. Hooray! Soon ... I had a clean hand. I was ready for my time with the King.
God provides. All you need. Did you know that?
Recently, I was making a poached egg for my beloved's lunch box. I usually prick the yolk of the egg with a skewer and add a teaspoonful of water before I place the poacher inside the microwave. But my skewer had disappeared and there wasn't time to look for another. I pulled out all the knives from the cutlery draw, hoping it would be underneath them, because that's where it usually resides. There was no sign of it. But ... wait! Under the knives lay a little toothpick. Wow! Perfect! I used it to prick my egg. In spite of that missing skewer, my husband's lunch was ready in time.
Thank you Papa", I whispered.
Yes, God provides! Every time! His provision is a daily occurrence - in fact, we are asked to pray for our daily bread, aren't we? Sadly, we often miss what He does ... or worse, we take it for granted. There are times I need to look for His provision long and hard until I find it. At other times He asks me to wait patiently for Him, in an attitude of trust.

There was a day I sat in my church, unable to worship. Like the threat of a storm hovering over me, a dark cloud of anxiety had taken residence within my heart. I sought God's face in a desperate prayer. I asked Him to speak to me for I needed His reassurance so badly.
As the sermon began, my eyes grew wide. He was doing it again. God spoke smack bang, right into my circumstance. 'Trust God' the preacher said. And she said it over and over again. Amazing! Did God give me what I needed? Absolutely!
I knew what I had to do - to discard my heavy garment of fear and to replace it
with the soft clothing of trust. The truth is that worry and anxiety are highly
over-rated! Do they solve my problems? Not a chance - they only hinder my walk
with God. Like a bush full of thorns that stands in my way, they trip me up and
I fall down bleeding.

Today, do you have worry etched across your heart? Is there a tough situation that steals your peace? Is there a challenge that threatens to overtake you? Is a difficult person causing your insides to churn? Is there seemingly no way out of your current dilemma? Perhaps like me, God asks you to lay down your burden. Like a child who places her complete trust in her Daddy, you and I could do the same. We can drop our troubles at His feet and reach out eagerly to hold our Papa's loving Hand. We can walk forward with Him ... together, knowing He is already at work on our behalf. Acting in our best interest. Behind the scenes.
Like He always does.

He is God.
He is good.
He loves you.
He is able.
He is faithful.
He will provide.
He will not fail you.
The Word says so and I believe it.

"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me-watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly." Matt 11:28-30 MSG
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:19 NIV

Would you like me to pray for you today? Feel free to share your concerns or your thoughts. I am listening.
He is listening too. And He loves you very very much!
